Patlytics Welcomes Amar K. Mehta to Advisory Board

Patlytics, the AI-powered end-to-end patent platform, today announced the appointment of Amar K. Mehta, Chief Legal Officer of Waymo, to its Advisory Board. A seasoned leader across intellectual property litigation, monetization, and strategy, Mehta brings over two decades of experience building, defending, and transacting high-value intellectual property at the world’s leading technology companies and investment firms.

Mehta began his legal career as a patent litigator at Fish & Richardson, one of the nation’s top IP law firms, before joining Altitude Capital Partners, where he led deal origination, negotiation, and structuring of deals. His success in driving returns from complex patent assets helped establish Altitude as one of the most influential IP investment firms of its era, eventually leading to its acquisition by RPX along with his own company, Digitude Innovations.

He later served as Senior Counsel, overseeing hundreds of IP acquisitions, divestitures, and strategic agreements that fortified Google’s portfolio, especially during the height of the smartphone patent wars. At Google, Mehta also shaped patent strategy for Android and consumer hardware, defining how the company leveraged intellectual property to protect innovation at scale. He currently serves as Chief Legal Officer at Waymo, where he continues to bridge technology, law, and business strategy. Mehta holds SB and MEng degrees in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from MIT and a JD from Harvard.

Mehta joins Patlytics at a time of rapid growth and adoption across top law firms and corporate IP teams. He was drawn to Patlytics’ vision of using artificial intelligence to streamline the complex and time-intensive aspects of IP practice, making life easier for professionals while improving outcomes for attorneys and clients alike.

Equally compelling was the strength of Patlytics’ existing advisory board and the positive market response to its platform, which together reflect the company’s momentum and product-market fit. Mehta views the integration of AI into IP workflows as a pivotal step toward a more efficient, data-driven future for the industry, and sees Patlytics as one of the few companies executing effectively on that vision.
