Patlytics, the AI-powered end-to-end patent platform, is thrilled to announce that Joshua Marcus, Ph.D., Vice President and Chief Intellectual Property (IP) Counsel at Insmed Incorporated (“Insmed”), has joined its Advisory Board. With a career spanning both advanced scientific research and high-stakes patent strategy, Josh brings an experienced blend of technical depth and legal acumen to the team. 

Josh began his professional journey in the life sciences, obtaining his B.S. degree in neuroscience from the University of Florida and a Ph.D. in biochemistry and molecular biophysics from the California Institute of Technology. Josh then worked as a scientific advisor and patent agent in private practice while attending Fordham University School of Law, where he earned his J.D. Prior to joining Insmed in 2016, Josh practiced patent law at Darby & Darby and Cooley LLP, where he advised clients on matters regarding cutting-edge biotechnology and biopharmaceutical innovations.

Josh currently leads the in-house IP team at Insmed, a people-first biotechnology company focused on transforming the lives of patients with serious and rare diseases.  At Insmed, Josh guides the development and execution of patent exclusivity strategies for Insmed’s commercial, clinical and pre-clinical programs, in addition to overseeing patent litigation and IP due diligence related to corporate development.

Now, as part of Patlytics’ Advisory Board, Josh is excited to contribute his experience to a team that is reshaping how IP professionals work.  This addition undoubtedly solidifies Patlytics’ ongoing commitment to collaborating with experts in law, science, and technology. Josh’s deep understanding of all three makes him a natural fit on the Advisory Board.
