Patlytics Partners with NetDocuments to Bring Firm Documents Directly into AI Patent Workflows

NEW YORK, November 5, 2026. Patlytics, the AI-native platform for the entire patent lifecycle, today announced a partnership with NetDocuments, the cloud-native document management system trusted by more than 7,000 law firms, corporate legal departments, and public sector organizations. The partnership launches with a NetDocuments integration in Patlytics, available now and built on ndConnect, NetDocuments' program for governed third-party AI access to firm content.
Patent work starts in the DMS. Invention disclosures, prior work product, and client materials already sit in the firm's document management system. Bringing them into an AI workflow has meant downloading each file and uploading it again.
The integration makes NetDocuments a source inside Patlytics My Drive. Users sign in to NetDocuments from Patlytics, browse or search their cabinets and folders, and import the documents they need. Every imported file carries a NetDocuments label and a link back to its source, so anyone on the matter can tell a DMS document from a manual upload. From there, documents run through the standard My Drive pipeline: extraction, indexing, AI summary, Patlytics Agent, and Patlytics' structured IP modules, including Patent Drafting, Office Actions, Invalidity, and Infringement.
Prosecution teams bring an invention disclosure and draft claims into Patlytics in a single import and spend their review time on the draft, not on file handling. Litigation teams pull existing client and product materials straight into a new invalidity or infringement analysis. The next phase closes the loop: work product created in Patlytics, from draft applications to claim charts, will save back to NetDocuments so finished output lives in the matter alongside its sources.
Security and permissions.
Access is scoped to the individual user. Users sign in through NetDocuments' own sign-in flow, by password or SSO, and each document is retrieved inside that user's session. Patlytics does not see or store NetDocuments credentials or tokens, uses no service account, and imports only documents the user is already entitled to open in NetDocuments.
The firm holds control. The integration stays off until an organization's administrator enables it under Settings › Integrations, so each firm decides whether its people may bring client documents into Patlytics. Nothing needs to be configured on the NetDocuments side.
Documents in Patlytics are encrypted in transit and at rest and siloed per customer. Patlytics does not use customer data to train or tune models, and is SOC 2 Type 2, ISO 27001, and ISO 42001 certified.
About the partnership.
Patlytics is used by 55% of the Am Law 100, and IP teams expect their AI platform to work directly from the firm's document management system. Document import is the first phase, with search across a firm's full NetDocuments repository to follow.
"Our customers' documents live in NetDocuments, and Patlytics now works directly from them. This partnership removes the manual step between a firm's files and the patent work done on them, with every permission intact," said Paul Lee, Co-founder and CEO of Patlytics.
"Firms have spent years building their knowledge inside NetDocuments. The value of legal AI depends on reaching that knowledge securely, where attorneys already work. Through ndConnect, Patlytics brings a firm's NetDocuments content into patent drafting, prosecution, and litigation analysis, and every NetDocuments permission holds along the way," said Cody Crnkovich, SVP, Global Partnerships and Alliances, NetDocuments.
Availability.
The NetDocuments integration is available now to Patlytics customers in the US. Existing customers can contact their account team to have it enabled; the organization's administrator then turns it on under Settings › Integrations.
