Patlytics Welcomes Roy Maharaj to Advisory Board

With more than 25 years of international experience in patent monetization, technology licensing, and strategic dealmaking, Roy brings deep expertise that will strengthen Patlytics’ mission to modernize global IP workflows through advanced AI.

Roy has built his career leading high-performance licensing, business development, and revenue organizations across industries including consumer electronics, mobile, semiconductors, networking, enterprise software, and cloud services. His track record spans scaling global licensing programs, negotiating complex international agreements, and helping technology companies unlock the commercial value of their IP assets.

At Ericsson, Roy oversees the global monetization of the company’s industry-leading patent portfolio. Before joining Ericsson, he served as Vice President of Licensing at Intellectual Ventures, where he helped guide the development and monetization of several of the company’s most successful licensing and assertion programs. Earlier in his career, he held leadership roles in IP monetization and technology licensing at multiple organizations, including IBM, where he began his legal career.

Roy’s experience leading global licensing teams and shaping monetization strategies gives him a unique perspective on the operational challenges facing enterprises as they seek to protect, license, enforce, and optimize their portfolios. His insight into how companies deploy and commercialize IP will be instrumental as Patlytics expands adoption among corporate patent groups, global licensing organizations, and in-house teams.

As a member of the Advisory Board, Roy will provide strategic guidance as Patlytics accelerates the use of AI-powered analysis across infringement detection, valuation, portfolio strategy, licensing, and patent lifecycle management.

Roy holds a JD from Santa Clara University School of Law, an MBA from San Jose State University, and a bachelor’s degree in business from Santa Clara University. In addition to his industry leadership, he frequently speaks at IP and licensing conferences and serves as an adjunct faculty member at the Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law at Arizona State University.
