Product Update: Chemical Structures, Sequences, Full §112 Support, and More

From chemical structure handling to expanded SEP coverage, this sprint reaches across almost every part of the Patlytics platform.

Updates this cycle include sequence-aware drafting for life sciences, full §112 support in invalidity, smarter contention chart creation, new SEC filing data across litigation modules, and new audio and 5G standards for SEP analysis.

Each update is built around what practitioners actually need to make their workflows more effective and efficient. Here's what's new.

Drafting: Life Sciences — Chemical Structures & Sequences (Beta)

• Chemical Structures — Import & Manage: Patlytics now supports chemical structure files (CDX, CDXML, SDF, MOL, SMI) and canonical compound search, providing a dedicated workspace to view, organize, and export structures directly within drafting workflow.

• Biological Sequences — Sequence-Aware Drafting: Sequences are now native to Patlytics’ drafting experience — available as default AI context, inline in the draft, and importable from Excel/CSV with auto-generated descriptions.

Drafting: Other Enhancements — Vector Graph & Standards

• Vector Graph: Patent figures are now converted to fully vectorized format, making lines and shapes movable and editable. Use the new shape tool to create lines, circles, and rectangles with multi-select support, and export figures retaining their vector format in Visio.

• Draft Standards: Create and manage your own drafting standards per patent draft — covering patent profanity, claim guidelines, summary, background, and abstract preferences. Patlytics provides sensible defaults for each standard, which you can customize to match your firm's style and MPEP practices.

Invalidity: Extended §112 Check Support

• Full §112 Coverage: Patlytics now has full §112 support, extending beyond 112(a) written description & enablement, to include 112 (b) indefiniteness, 112(d) claim dependency, and 112(f) means-plus-function detection with specification structure checks.
• Multiple Views: Review results by Terms & Phrases or by Claim & Limitations, with citation support and direct highlighting for quick navigation.

Invalidity: Contention Chart Improvements

• Advanced Templates: New document-level and claim-table-level template fields including header, footer, font styles, disclaimer language, preamble block, and closing block. Preview template changes before saving.
• Smarter Chart Creation: Read strength is shown for references upfront, duplicate chart detection flags existing charts using the same reference(s), and you can review reference citations with the source PDF inline.

• Image Support: Evidence images are pulled in by default, with support for adding, deleting, and resizing images in chart editing.

• Project-Level Defendant: Set a default defendant at the project level to have it auto-populate in the chart creation form.

Litigation Modules Enhancements

• 8-K/10-K SEC Filings Data: Financial data from SEC filings is now available across Detection Report and PMT-Infringement for companies with active filings — accessible in manual product selection, Detection Report company pages, claim charts, and portfolio heatmaps.

• Product Document Download: Download product documents directly from both PMT-Infringement and Detection Report.
• Standard & Exhaustive Charting Modes: Claim charts now offer Standard and Exhaustive charting modes, selectable via the gear icon next to the charting button. Exhaustive mode returns up to 50% more evidence than Standard mode (default) by searching for evidence tied to the broader technical context of the invention. Set your preferred default at the project level.

Other Updates

• Client Matter  — Bulk Import: Upload a CSV or Excel file with client matter name, ID, client name, and owner email to bulk-populate your workspace with up to 5,000 client matters supported per upload.
• FTO — Risk Edit & Breakdown: You can now edit risk designations and view an updated risk breakdown within FTO analyses.
• Claim Charts — Redesigned Layout: A unified claim chart layout now is in 3-panel view, consistent across prosecution and litigation modules. The AI chat panel can now be collapsed and expanded as needed but is always accessible from the claim chart view.
• SEP — New Audio Standards: Support added for Release 19 IVAS (TS 26.25x) and Release 19 EVS (TS 26.44x–45x).
• SEP — New 5G Standards: Support added for TS 23 and TS 137.
